Out of The Shadows, Into The Light- Literally!

Hey, beauties!

The reason for my resurgence on this blog is due to something very interesting that I thought I must share with you guys. It's a topic that I have never addressed, but I'm happy to finally be doing it. Modest Fashion! Not many blogs talk about the new trends in modest fashion, although it exists and is flourishing. I'm here to talk to you about one such trend, started and created by Murcyleen Peerzada.

Murcyleen Peerzada started off with movies and films, but is now an international designer. The launch of her career began when she saw the lack of choice available for women who believe in modest dressing in India. She is very well known for the colours she uses, and her fairytale inspired abayas.

Murcyleen Peerzada talking about 'Healthy Abaya'
At the Dubai Modest Fashion Week 2017, Murcyleen launched the first of its kind 'Healthy Abaya'. Made of Microsolv fabric, it allows penetration of UVB rays. This allows women to receive their daily requirement of vitamin D, which is usually generated by our skin in the sunlight. Vitamin D helps promote healthy bones, boosts immunity against diseases, and helps combat depression.

Not only is this fabric UV-transparent, soft and breathable, but it is also easy to take care of, and is very affordable.

Her label aims at redefining what abayas mean in the desi market. Starting with the Indian and Dubai market, she surely plans on foraying into the rest of the Middle Eastern market. Murcyleen knows that her target audience is going to be modest dressers from her faith. However, seeing how her designs can also be worn as cloaks, she believes it can reach a wider audience.

Amalgamate

Hey, beautiful people!

Happy New Year! (Forgive me for being 16 days late.)
Here I am again, posting after AGES. I really missed blogging, and I'm glad to be back.

So, while I've been absconding from the blogging world, I have come to realize a few more styles and fashions that I truly adore. One of these is the amalgamation of Indian and Western styles.

Here are a few ways that I have merged Indian and Western components to get my desired ratio of Indo-Western into my outfit.

Look 1:

This look is more of a casual, modern, Indianized hippie look. (Don't we all just love the hippie look sometimes?) The Indian elements of this look are the pair of low crotch elephant print harem pants, and the mojaris that I have paired it up with.

If you want to dress this look up, you could always throw in a statement neckpiece, or even statement earrings, and complete the look with a pair of heels.

Mojaris- Fabindia

Look 2:

I would probably sport this outfit for a fancy dinner party. The Indian elements of this outfit are the pair of jhumkas and the kutch work clutch. When I saw this clutch, I swear, it was love at first sight.

I really love this look, and look forward to wearing it really soon.

Embellished Updo

Hey, readers!

This hairstyle is basically involves accessorizing a basic updo. You don't have to follow the exact steps for the updo, because you can do it any way you prefer.

Here is how you can acheive the look-

Step 1:
Gather your hair into a poof if you don't like it being to flat. Part your hair into an upper and lower half using the top of your ear as a guide for the starting point.

Step 2:
Keep twisting the upper half until it becomes tight enough and starts forming a bun. Secure this bun with a few bobby pins.

Step 3:
Gather the lower half towards the upper half and start twisting. Only this time, you wrap the twist around the first bun. Secure this final bun with bobby pins and U-pins.

Step 4:
Get any embellishment you like, and pin it up to the updo in any way you like!

FINAL LOOK:

The embellishments I have used are a pair of anklets. You could use anything you like! Maybe a bracelet, necklace, etc.

Hope you enjoy reading my posts as much as I like writing them! :)

Latest Favourites

Hello, beauties!

I've recently bought some new accessories, make-up products and more that I just can't get enough of, and I thought I'd share it with you guys!

REVLON COLORBURST:

Been looking for the perfect matte red lipstick? This lipstick is easily one of my favourite ones. It's matte finish makes it look so chic and thanks to it's high pigmentation, it doesn't take much effort to obtain it's true colour.

ASOS HEAD HARNESS:

As many of my friends might know, I'm a huge fan of bling. What better way to embrace what I love than this stone studded head harness? Definitely in love with this accessory!

ASOS HAND HARNESS:

I've fallen in love with this simple, yet stylish gold hand harness. It's beauty lies in how delicate it looks, but still so beautiful.

MAYBELLINE COLORSHOW:

This range of nailpaints has such a variety of hues that'll spoil you for choice!

SHAUN DESIGN BACKPACK:

My obsession with aztec isn't going to end anytime soon. I love this backpack to bits. It's sufficiently spacious, and goes with so many outfits!

Day-to-Night: Jacket Edition

Hey, girls!

This post is about how you can style a denim and leather jacket for a casual day out, or a party night with your friends!

THE DENIM JACKET

A denim jacket has never gone out of style. It's one of the most versatile pieces of clothing in my wardrobe.

THE LEATHER JACKET

This is one of the most edgy pieces of clothing a girl, or for that matter, even a guy, could ever have in their wardrobes. For women, the perfect leather jacket has to be extremely well fitted, or it loses its smartness.

Have a lovely year!
